Director of Service (Aug 2019 - May 2020)

Manderson Specialized Masters Association, Executive Board Member
  • Executed 3-week long, inaugural university-wide fundraising campaign for United Way of West Alabama.
    • ​Served as the direct liaison between United Way of West Alabama and the University of Alabama.
    • Created 3-month campaign calendar detailing all fundraising milestones, deadlines, and events.
    • Led 3 different committees (social media, social events, and volunteers) to implement campaign.
    • Received 100+ distinct donations.
    • Crafted a revised campaign calendar and timeline for the 2021 fundraiser.
Youth Ministry Leader (Jan 2016 - May 2018)
Bama Wesley Campus Ministry
  • Lead Event Organizer 

    • Planned, promoted, and executed various Week of Welcome and monthly social events.

    •  Coordinated with staff members, connected with various vendors, budgeted expenses, and organized volunteers for each event. 

  • Freshman Girl’s Small Group 

    • ​Created and co-led weekly lessons and mentored freshman girls.

  • Bible Study Leader 

    • ​Created and co-led weekly lessons with an emphasis on helping students develop leadership skills.

Volunteerism

Youth Mentor

READ Alabama (Sept 2014 - May 2018)
  • Helped to mentor elementary school aged children, meeting with them once a week for about two hours.
  • Each session consisted of reading a book together with the children and then working together on crafts and worksheets related to that week's book.
  • Primary purpose of the program was to help foster a love of reading and provide children with the care and attention they need to succeed but might not be able to receive at home.
DREAM Alabama (Sept 2015 - Nov 2015)
  • Volunteered through the University of Alabama in conjunction with a mentoring honors course.
  • Visited a local middle school once a week to mentor sixth graders.
  • Taught a new lesson each week to the students that focused on various personal values (i.e. respect or sharing) and then asked them a series of questions about the lesson to try to facilitate a discussion.
  • Primary purpose of the program was to help encourage the children to learn how to embody important values as they continue to grow and mature, while also providing them with the care and attention they need to thrive but might not be able to receive at home.
Adult Mentor (Sept 2015 - Nov 2015)
LIFT (Learning Initiative & Financial Training) Program
  • Volunteered at the local Veterans Administration as part of an Honors Accounting class.

  • Taught Microsoft PowerPoint lessons to VA nurses to help them strengthen their business skill set.
